Skill and expertise of the OCAG staff is the most valuable asset. Among the managerial staff, the office boosts a wide range of educational backgrounds. The office actually finds the variation in experiences which is very useful for carrying out its audit activities especially in compliance audit and performance audit. Moreover, the office is also aware that it needs to increase its focus on accounting and auditing related qualification and training. At the moment, the majority of the managerial staff comes from Science and humanities background followed by commerce background. There has been quite a large number of MBAs. Also a significant number of managerial staffs completed masters in financial management and similar subjects from foreign universities. The number of ICMAs, CISAs, CIPFAs and other professional degree holders is still quite low. To increase the number of professional degree holders, many effective steps have been taken. This is the age of digital Bangladesh. Most of the govt. organizations are now using different types of software for completing day to day task, for easing the service delivery process and providing quality service to the citizen. To enrich the employees with technological development, many IT related trainings are also being arranged periodically by the OCAG and financial management academy (Fima).
On 18 November 2019, the existing organogram of the audit & accounts department has been upgraded. As a result, 800 posts (both permanent and temporary) have been created and 7 new audit directorates have been formed. At present, total sanctioned manpower is 15030 where 8568 employees are serving and 6462 posts are vacant. Through the ongoing recruitment process about 2210 people will be added to the existing manpower. The male female ratio is 82:18 (approximately). The number of female employees is increasing every year compared with male colleagues. Moreover, in job placement, training and other opportunities female employees have equal access compared to their male counterparts.
